Large-sized double-curved GRC panels, due to their heavy weight and complex curved surfaces, place extremely high demands on the performance and compatibility of lifting equipment. Drawing on 28 years of construction experience in large-scale GRC projects, Qinglong Group has developed targeted lifting equipment selection and operation standards, achieving safe and efficient hoisting in key projects such as the Shanghai Astronomy Museum and Wuhan Hanxi Theater, ensuring project quality and schedule.
The load capacity of lifting equipment must allow ample safety margin. A single large-sized double-curved GRC panel typically weighs several tons. Qinglong strictly follows the principle of "load capacity ≥ 1.5 times the panel weight" in equipment selection. In the Shanghai New World Nanjing East Road Century Plaza project, for super-large double-curved UHPC-GRC composite panels weighing over 700 kg each, a 25-ton truck crane was selected, whose rated load far exceeds actual requirements, and it was also equipped with overload protection devices to eliminate overload hoisting risks.
Hoisting precision control equipment is the key to curved surface installation. Double-curved GRC panels require millimeter-level installation precision. In the Shenzhen Xinghewan project, Qinglong adopted lifting equipment with variable frequency speed regulation to achieve smooth adjustment of hoisting speed and avoid panel impact and collision. At the same time, laser rangefinders and levels were equipped to monitor the hoisting height and horizontal attitude of panels in real time, working with the inching function of the lifting equipment to precisely adjust panel positions and ensure consistency with design coordinates.
Special working conditions require dedicated lifting equipment. For complex construction environments such as high altitudes and confined spaces, Qinglong flexibly selects different types of lifting equipment. In the Guangxi New Media Center project, facing the three-dimensional curved surface installation requirements of high-rise buildings, a combination of tower crane and electric hoist was adopted: the tower crane handled vertical transport while the electric hoist achieved horizontal fine adjustment, meeting the precise docking requirements of complex curved surfaces. For large-span projects, crawler cranes were selected, whose stable ground performance and large operating radius advantages ensure hoisting safety.
As a Grade II professional contractor for building curtain wall engineering, Qinglong has established a comprehensive lifting equipment management system, with all equipment regularly inspected and maintained and operators certified for their positions. By simulating hoisting paths with BIM technology to avoid construction risks in advance, Qinglong has achieved outstanding results of zero safety accidents and zero installation deviations in numerous large-sized double-curved GRC panel projects. In the future, Qinglong will continue to optimize hoisting technical solutions, providing more professional equipment support and construction services for large double-curved GRC panel installation.
